Evaluate/screen and provide treatment or make recommendations in a variety of clinical settings as referred by physicians in accordance with the Texas Physical Therapy Practice Act. Provide thorough and timely documentation of client records including patient attendance, evaluation, progress notes, conferences, and discharge notes according to requirements. Supervise and instruct the physical therapy aides in patient treatment and utilize them to their fullest potential. Participate in department, interdepartmental, or Center based staff, inservice education, and committee meetings. Maintain equipment, supplies, and work areas, reporting defective equipment, requisitioning supplies and equipment as needed. Maintain safety procedures as established by the Safety/Infection Control Committee and as outlined in the policies and procedures of the Physical Therapy Department.. Assist with orientations of new employees and educational programs for students of associated facilities. Maintain good working relationships within the department and between interdepartmental staff Abide by the Code of Ethics established by the APTA. Assist in developing and marketing new programs as appropriate. Perform other duties as requested by Supervisor. Abide by policies and procedures set forth in the Center's Compliance Plan. A valid Texas PT license in good standing with Texas Licensing Board is required. You must be able to perform the job tasks required of a manual therapist in an out-patient setting including lifting and assisting in transferring patients. General use of a computer and tablet with the associated EMR program is a necessity as well. The ability to communicate in person and over the phone with patients and referral sources is also required.
