Job Description


This position will serve as a contracted employee who will work as a vendor onsite at a prominent

search engine company, supporting the Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) department. Your primary function will be supporting the EHS Global Construction EHS team by performing regulatory and contractual compliance audits on construction sites located primarily in California but may include other states such as New York, Colorado, Washington, Texas, etc.


The purpose of this position is to support and assist in the management of HSE (Environmental Health and Safety) programs relative to a specific account or market area.

Assists in Managing HSE programs and initiatives to meet regulatory requirements and HSE needs of a client account(s).

Evaluates new and existing programs to assess suitability and the need for changes.

Assists in overseeing specific HSE plans, playbooks, and procedures for the assigned account or market area, making certain play books are current, complete, and effectively implemented.

Responds to customer member concerns regarding HSE matters.

Provides formal supervision to individual employees within single functional or operational area.

Recommends staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination.

Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime.

Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff.

Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies.

Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

Primary support for auditing construction projects to the Google Construction EHS program.

Ensure compliance to local laws & regulations, Google EHS requirements and Contractor EHS


Document all audits using the Construct Secure Inspect database.

Conduct an opening and closing conference with the project team when needed.

Follow action items as a result of the audit to completion.

Document a final compliance report within 2 weeks of audit completion when needed.

Responsible for engaging in EHS commissioning process. This involves ensuring facility and

building EHS design requirements are adhered to during the construction phase.

Complete EHS commissioning checklists to ensure EHS systems are integrated per design prior

to building ready.

Performs other duties as assigned.


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May coordinate and assign tasks to co-workers within a work unit and/or project.

Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety or related field, or equivalent practical


5 years of experience working on major construction projects.

5 years experience working in the field of safety.

Strong knowledge of interpreting and complying with OSHA 1026.

Working knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential.

Direct experience dealing with regulatory agencies and/or compliance officers is preferred.

Experience working in manufacturing, construction, and facility maintenance and management is preferred.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to effectively present information.

Able to maintain daily logs and supplement inspection records with photographs.

Ability to review and interpret plans, blueprints, site layouts, specifications, or construction

methods to ensure compliance to legal requirements and safety regulations.

Evaluate project details to ensure adherence to regulations.

Inspect and monitor construction/residential sites to ensure adherence to safety standards,

building codes, or specifications.

Knowledge of databases, Google Docs/Sheets/Slides and experienced on navigating computers.


Any of the following: Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - preferred.
