Job Summary:
The Dispatch Representative works in the Dispatch Center to ensure timely delivery, while assisting construction contractors with ordering quality concrete and building materials. The Position also directs delivery drivers on a daily basis to ensure the fleet is working at the optimum capacity. Our ready mix team works together each day to ensure customer satisfaction and create long lasting customer relationships. In the Kitsap Market the dispatcher also plays a large role as inside direct sales.

Duties:
• Directs driver's daily activities
• Responsible for scheduling drivers, which includes start times and end times for daily shifts
• Manages and schedules deliveries and communicates priorities
• Promotes and maintains a strong relationship between Customers, Sales, Plant Management and Drivers
• Answer phone calls and respond to customer requests
• Accurately and quickly input phone orders for delivery
• Professionally resolve customer issues and problems
• Project a professional company image through phone interaction
• Complete reports as needed
• Willing to learn concrete applications and mix design concepts, as well as assist customers with calculating material quantities for orders

Education:
High School diploma or equivalent preferred

Requirements/Qualifications:
• Safety First mentality is a must
• 1 to 3 years prior experience in dispatch or logistics
• Knowledge of DOT regulations and compliance for Intrastate Deliveries
• Knowledge of concrete applications and mix design concepts, as well as be able to assist customers with calculating material quantities for orders
• Experience using delivery/trucking software
• Ability to work well in under stress in a busy, fast paced environment while maintaining an even temperament
• Skills in establishing and maintaining effective professional working relationships with staff and customers
• Strong knowledge of the Key Performance Indicators used to measure success in the Ready-Mix Industry is a plus
• Comfortable handling and resolving customer issues and problems with diplomacy and professionalism
• Prior experience with logistics and or trucking
• Strong computer and accurate data entry skills
• Good attendance and punctuality is key to the success of the team

Work Schedule:
Work week is Monday - Friday and occasional Saturdays. Must be able to work a flexible schedule since start time can vary and often be very early due to scheduling of customer orders. Finish times will also vary depending on the work volume of the day.

Preferred:
1 year ready mix dispatching experience preferred

Conditions of Employment:
Successful candidate must submit to post offer pre-employment physical examination, drug/alcohol screen and background check. Some positions require FMCSA regulated on-going drug and alcohol testing.
