This position contributes to Starbucks success by assuming responsibility for the strategic value, capabilities, and performance of cross-company technology solutions in support of the R&D, product development, category/marketing, supply chain planning and execution, and finance domains for the Global Channel Development organization. We design, build, and nurture a technology ecosystem that elevates the Starbucks brand and grows our business. To be successful, the technical product manager, sr needs to have significant technical acumen and functional business experience in these key domains. Along with a passion for solving large cross-funtional problems, a successful technical product manager, sr will lead the planning and execution of complex solutions that provide exceptional capabilities to drive decision making, optimization, financial performance, and operational excellence for the Global Channel Development organization.
Summary of Key Responsibilities Responsibilities and essential job functions include, but are not limited to, the following\:
  • Leads and drives functional and technical solutions across R&D, product development, category/marketing, supply chain planning and execution, and finance domains in support of Channel Development.

  • Leads and manages product and solution planning, development and delivery through day-to-day collaboration, and decision making with cross-functional teams, including systems analysts, business or subject matter representatives, architects, engineers, and product owners.

  • Create product and solution roadmaps & facilitate feature/solution prioritization across multiple domains.

  • Leads business stakeholders, technology leadership, analysts, engineers, and QA to align on capability sizing, delivery planning, and strategic and tactical acceptance criteria of a technology solutions. When necessary, collaborates with Channel partners strategically and tactically

  • Facilitates solution approach recommendation when various options exist, documenting options in decision framework and gaining alignment at working team and leadership levels.

  • Helps resolve functional and technical blocking issues, and coordinates solutions across multiple technical teams.

  • Determines technical feasibility, dependencies, and constraints of features and capabilities with support from neighboring technology teams as needed.

  • Identifies technical tradeoffs, escalates risks, and manages mitigation in collaboration with neighboring technology teams.

  • Communicates effectively and in a contextually appropriate way with technology and business teams.

  • Acts as a coach/mentor to team on various technical product manager competencies.

  • Defines product performance and effectiveness metrics that measure and benchmark product, feature, and solution success.

  • Monitors feature performance to find opportunitites to address continuous improvement.

  • Stays abreast of new technology capabilities and leverages knowledge in contributing to product solutions. Recommends and plans innovative products and features.

  • Builds effective relationships with key external and internal functional, business, engineering, product, and design teams.

  • Ensures analyst and engineering teams have needed information on acceptance criteria, endpoints, inputs, and outputs.

Qualification: Experience, Skills and Knowledge\:
  • Functionally and technically adept on end-to-end system architecture and business process design in support of R&D, product development, category/marketing, supply chain planning and execution, and finance domains.

  • Working functional and technical knowledge of supply chain operations and systems and business reporting and analytics. Supply chain focus in order fulfillment, distribution, and/or demand and supply planning in large, multi-channel supply chains.

  • Technology integration experience in M&A or business partnership-oriented environment.

  • Demonstrated experience facilitating solution approach when various options exist, documenting options in decision framework and gaining alignment at working team and leadership levels.

  • Hands-on experience defining product or solution scope in a complex environment with competing priroties.

  • Basic knowledge of industry-standard identity and security practices.

  • Hands-on experience in developing technical roadmaps, assembling story outlines, writing user stories, refining product backlogs, and coordinating/prioritizing conflicting requirements in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Detail and results oriented, able to analyze data to justify product or solution decisions and apply key learnings.

  • Ability to thoroughly understand complex business and technical issues and influence decision making

  • Ability to apply knowledge of multidisciplinary business principles and practices to achieve successful outcomes in cross-functional projects and activities.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills.

  • Consistently uses communications skills to influence outcomes.

  • Ability to influence others without authority to get things done in a timely fashion.

  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

  • Strong knowledge of agile development practices, methodologies, and tools

  • 7+ years of industry experience in a technology environment, with a record of successfully delivering complex products and solutions.

  • BS degree or compariable technical certification strongly preferred.

  • Demonstrated leadership in leading and defining large cross functional business process and systems transformations across the following domains\: R&D, product development, category/marketing, supply chain planning and execution, and finance

  • Leadership, creative thinking, and problem solving skills.

  • Strong verbal and written communications skills, ability to quickly master new systems and/or processes, capacity to stay organized while managing competing priorities.
