Job Description

Loparex LLC is the world's largest manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners for the converting industry. We have manufacturing operations throughout the U.S., Europe, China, and India. The Iowa City facility has been in operation since 1970 and annually supplies three billion square feet of release liner worldwide.

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to work in the Iowa City facility.

Position Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide skilled electrical troubleshooting and support for web-line production equipment in an industrial environment
  • Troubleshoot motor control systems consisting of starter circuits and drive applications including; Allen-Bradley PowerFlex, Yaskawa, Siemens and Magnatek
  • Effectively read electrical schematics for control systems and power distribution
  • Use Fluke Multi-meter and Process meter
  • Install and perform scheduled calibrations of instrumentation including infrared cameras, RTD's, thermocouples and mass flow meters
  • Troubleshoot analog process control loops for extruder and oven heating and chilled water systems
  • Troubleshoot PLC programs and HMI's and competently make minor changes to programs with RSLogix 5000/500 and Proficy iFix software
  • Setup and troubleshoot network communications through serial, Ethernet/IP and DeviceNet protocols
  • Installing/running software used for communicating with field devices
  • This position will work a rotating 12-hour day shift (7 am to 7 pm).

Qualified candidates must possess two year industrial electronics technical education or equivalent experience that provides the knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the above duties and responsibilities. Candidate must also have safe working knowledge of low voltage systems up to 480 VAC/3-Phase and 600 VDC, and basic computer knowledge of MSOffice tools. Starting wage is negotiable and will depend on qualifications.
